![]() "Now that I have your attention I'll be asking you to stop trying to destroy the portal. "Ouch! For so little a girl you hit awfully hard!" "We'll see about that." She flew up in front of my face, made a tiny fist and hit me right on the end of my nose." "Imagination is it! Do you not trust your own eyes then?" "A really adorable bit of my imagination?" Her delicate wings fluttered and she flew up to the top of the stump. I shut my eyes hard and opened them again and she was still there. “No, you’re not losing your mind, I’m real and if you were half the Irishman I thought you were you’d know that!” She said. I thought sure my mind is gone or there’s something wrong with the coffee! I looked down, and there, standing in a tiny doorway at the base of the stump, a doorway that hadn’t been there a moment ago, was a tiny woman with wings. It was especially odd since she spoke with a thick Irish accent. “I looked around for the girl who spoke but didn’t see anyone. I looked around for the girl who spoke but didn’t see anyone. I frowned at the stump and just out of frustration I gave it a hard kick. One early morning when the sun was just coming up and most people are still tucked in their beds, I went outside to enjoy the spring morning with my coffee. Over the years I tried every method possible to get rid of it but it remained. It wasn’t in the actual area where I wanted to build my house so I left it there. It wouldn’t budge, I tried bulldozing it, even cutting it but nothing worked. Not one I couldn’t overcome, or at least work around but there was a tree stump and try as I might, I could not get it out of the ground. When I built my house in West Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, I ran into a curious problem. Long as EP tries to diversify the gameplay a bit so it can stand out a bit more, I don't have any problems with it.This is the story of the Fairy’s, their Enchanted Portal Fairy Doors and how I came to be selling them. Ever seen Sliders or read Exiles? Something like that. Hence the title there and all the weirdness they encounter. So, hey, more power to Hashil: Actually I think the theme is that the portals are sending the two kids through various dimensions and/or time periods. The creators of EP pretty much know what they want and what they were getting into when they announced it. At the end of the day it's just another (albeit extremely fun) run and gun game. People are just complaining because of the fact there hasn't been a 2D run and gun in a long while and think Cuphead broke the mold It's unique in it's style, but really that's about it. Heck Cuphead itself is taking cues from Contra and Metal Slug for their gameplay too. Plus you know how it goes when something is popular, you're going to have followers. I'm not complaining, I like the designs and it looks cute enough. I agree with Jim, it's glening from Cuphead's style when it comes to gameplay and animation choice, but that aside, the vibe is all it's own and going for a more fantasy feel then a old school toon throwback in the form of a shooter. Hence why they started up a kickstarter in the first place to make it look better. Well you gotta keep in mind that these are early concept builds, not the final product. That said, I think the game still looks really good, and I'm excited for it.Įdited by DrNoPuma on Oct 22nd 2019 at 1:22:44 PM Of course, other games get their styles ripped off all the time, and people don't complain like they have for this one. ![]() Also, it's hard to tell from the trailer, but it looks as if the gameplay has some subtle differences from Cuphead too (for example, when the boy gets hit with a hammer, instead of taking damage, he seemingly just gets squashed down for a few seconds.) It's a shame that they couldn't have strayed from Cuphead's style a little more, but I don't think it's fair to call it a complete ripoff. So many creative ideas went into this game. While the game does seem to use a similar Boss Game format and art style, the worlds, the characters, and the plotline are very different from those in Cuphead. ![]() It borrows the gameplay style, and the art and seemingly the music in its aesthetic too. The game has come under fire for seemingly being a ripoff of Cuphead. Enchanted Portals is an upcoming run and gun game by Xixo Games Studio. ![]()
